Bei Yao Wan is a small district in Shanghai occupied by migrant workers. Moving to Shanghai in hopes of earning more than in their rural hometowns, the residents of Bei Yao Wan regularly face difficulties in finding affordable housing and providing opportunities for higher education for their children. Additionally, the city has designated this migrant quarter for demolition in the next two years. Bei Yao Wan explores the stories of two migrant families struggling to provide a better life for their children.
